Jason is a professional public speaker, podcaster, author of public relations and marketing books, and an entrepreneur.   • In 1994, Jason started digital marketing by teaching himself HTML.
  • By 1995, people recognized him in public as “the guy with a website,” and companies sought his digital marketing services.
  • In 1998, he launched some of the nation's first e-commerce websites, helping companies create online presences.
  • In 1999, Silicon Valley tech giant Yahoo stole his company's unique e-commerce system to start Yahoo! Shopping.
  • In 1999, he learned search engine optimization and offered it as a service before the term SEO existed.
  • In 2000, he and his colleagues conceptualized what we now call Web 2.0 and social media as the future of the internet.
  • In July 2025, he introduced the term "AI Relations" to describe the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and the practice of corresponding PR strategies.

In 2006, Jason started podcasting the agency's insights. Today, he's the host and producer of On Top of PR” with Jason Mudd, a videocast about PR topics, tips, and trends. It is one of the top 2% most popular podcast shows globally, according to ListenNotes' Listen Score, and among the top 100 marketing podcasts on Apple Podcasts. After writing about PR best practices for 44 American City Business Journals, Jason became a Forbes Agency Council influencer. He also writes for PR industry trade media and other business and industry outlets.

He oversees strategic communications strategies for the firm’s national clients, delivering high-level consultations to client leadership teams at billion-dollar global brands. Family matters


Jason and Tabitha have two adult children: Molly and Simon. Tabitha classically homeschooled Molly and Simon at the family’s primary residence on Amelia Island, Florida. They’re members of Grace Church, serving in various leadership positions.

Every summer, they visit with extended family at their lake cabin in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Jason’s a proud uncle to five niblings. The Mudd family rescued Oscar, a Yorkshire terrier, who has his own Instagram account! Jason and Oscar walk three miles daily on the beach and greenway.

Jason enjoys giving back to the next generations in his hometown of Fernandina Beach, Florida.

  • He led Operation Skate's lobbying and fundraising efforts to build a community skate park. Skateboarder Poe Pinson represented the town in the 2024 Olympics!
  • He spent a decade volunteering as a youth football, basketball, baseball, and soccer coach for the YMCA, Pop Warner, Babe Ruth, and Upward. Several of his players earned college scholarships for football and soccer.
  • He is also involved in his community as a columnist for American City Business Journals, as well as a board member for Synovus Bank and a chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Surprising facts about Jason

  • He was a sponsored skateboarder as a teenager.

  • Yet he has never broken a bone.

  • He taught himself HTML and began web publishing in 1994.

  • He and his team conceptualized in 1999 what we later called "Web 2.0" and social media.

  • He earned an Emmy with his colleagues at the Florida Sports Awards. He presented MVP awards to the state's top professional and amateur athletes.

  • He's presented fan-voted team MVP awards to every Florida pro team.

  • He performed stand-up comedy at The Comedy Zone.

  • He studies Bokujin Bujutsu martial arts with his children.

  • He’s visited 48 of the 50 U.S. states.
