How to effectively use Facebook groups to grow your company
As you might know, Facebook changed its algorithm last year. The biggest social network in the world went back to serving its original purpose of connecting friends and family. Where does this change leave companies? Does it mean that your company should no longer include Facebook in its overall digital marketing strategy?
No, it doesn’t mean that. It means you need to update your Facebook marketing strategy. While it’s true that organic reach for your company’s Facebook page is lower now, there’s a great way to engage your followers and increase your conversion rate: Start and grow a company Facebook group.
Here are three easy ways to grow your Facebook group:
1. Provide value.
People join your company’s Facebook group for a reason. They’re looking for answers and information. It’s your job to provide them with that information. If you post valuable content people are seeking, they’ll remain in your Facebook group and will likely become your customers.
2. Support your Facebook group community.
One of the biggest differences between a Facebook page and a Facebook group is that the latter is a community. People are joining to communicate and exchange information with like-minded individuals.
Supporting this sense of two-way communication between your group members and engaging with them will help you to turn your members into customers. Happy clients will spread the word about your community and help you grow.
3. Cross-promote.
In order for your company’s Facebook Group to grow, you need to let people know that it exists. You can do this by cross-promotion on other social platforms your company is using. For example, if your company is on Twitter, Tweet about your Facebook group with some frequency, inviting your followers to join. Another effective way to promote your company’s Facebook group is to mention it (with a link) in your company’s other content, like blog posts, newsletters, podcasts, e-books, etc.
Your company Facebook group is a terrific opportunity to increase your audience engagement and convert members into loyal customers. Sharing high-quality valuable content in your group, supporting your group community, and cross-promoting will not only make your Facebook page thrive, it will bring your company more business.
