NEW YORK - Axia Public Relations developed a scholarship program through a strategic partnership with the Public Relations Society of America and its PRSA Foundation.
The PRSA Foundation will give the annual $2,000 award to a student with financial need who is a junior or senior in good academic standing at an accredited university, majoring in PR, journalism, communications, advertising, or marketing, with a commitment to working in a PR profession.
The winner must also have previous PR or related experience through volunteering, employment, or an internship. Membership in the Public Relations Student Society of America is not required.
Axia founder Jason Mudd worked his way through college while attending the acclaimed Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri–Columbia. He depended on scholarships and financial aid to fill the gap. It was important to him to develop a scholarship program like this to give back and to enhance the profession by investing in the next generation of public relations practitioners and leaders.
