Job Summary
The public relations assistant is an entry-level PR professional with a strong interest in news, social, and web media, or an experienced executive assistant with outstanding communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with client and agency PR campaigns.
- Research client companies, services, and competition.
- Prepare letters, mail merges, agreements, and other documentation.
- Communicate and distribute materials to critical audiences.
- Contribute to client and agency social media and content marketing efforts.
- Write news, social media, and web content, including news releases, briefs, feature stories, media pitches, business letters, and posts.
- Attend client and community events, representing the agency and clients.
- Develop and manage client, company, media, and influencer contact lists.
- Assist PR staff with deliverables and deadlines.
- Prepare client agendas, project/program reports, and meeting reports.
- Make outbound phone calls for the company.
- Schedule appointments.
Position Requirements
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude
- Available at least 20-40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree from an accredited college in public relations, journalism, communication, or a similar field
- Previous experience in PR, media relations, journalism, news and feature writing, blogging, social media, marketing, web marketing, inbound marketing, business, sales, or administrative work

Salary and Benefits
- Compensation: $25K–$40K annual salary, based on qualifications and experience
- Payable by direct deposit on the 15th and 30th of each month

Travel Requirements
Depending on location, occasional quarterly travel is possible. Most travel is to local clients and events or out-of-town workshops and conferences.
