As both a seasoned public relations and social marketing pro, Wendy collaborates with clients on both earned media and inbound content strategies. She is an award-winning journalist whose articles have appeared within the pages of business journals, parenting magazines, newspapers, and dozens of digital media outlets. In 2009, she earned the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) Media Award for her broad-reaching written voice on the topic of Down syndrome and special needs. She also served as a special needs columnist for several parenting journals seeking to bridge editorial content specifically for the special needs community. Wendy has worked for Axia Public Relations as a senior blogger and media writer since September 2014.

When not writing, speaking, or posting, Wendy enjoys hiking with her family and discovering hidden gems located throughout New England, whether they be new ski trails, maple sugar houses, or private beaches on Martha’s Vineyard. A culinary enthusiast who studied at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, Wendy is frequently in her kitchen whipping up seasonal New England favorites, like clam chowder and whoopie pies. Her latest endeavor is perfecting macarons (even in the dreaded, macaron-demolishing humidity). If she wasn’t working in PR, Wendy would escape to the Mediterranean with her husband, Tony, to eat and drink her way through the region, while basking in its intoxicating beauty. She hopes to one day retire to Ireland and open a bed-and-breakfast in the sleepy fishing village of Ballycotton.
An active mother of three children (including a set of twin boys), you might find Wendy volunteering at her children’s school, cheering for them from the sidelines, organizing the next community fundraiser, or planning the next bucket list family adventure. Her twin boys study martial arts, play baseball, and invest an inordinate amount of time on popular video games, such as “Roblox” and “Fortnite.” Wendy’s teenage daughter was born with Down syndrome. From birth, she has been a fiery, spunky, and unstoppable force, starring in “Signing Time,” an instructional sign language series, appearing on magazine covers, and adorning the pages of multiple newspapers. Wendy and her family have made it a mission to prove that labels do not define ability.
She once auditioned for MTV’s “The Real World” (and almost made it on the show).
She is a previously certified aerobics instructor and fitness trainer.
She can drive a tractor, bale hay, build fences, castrate bulls, swing an axe, and grow crops; she earned this education from years working on her family’s cattle ranch.
She was an officer in her sorority, Kappa Delta.
She is a master at home repairs and loves wielding a chainsaw.
Her favorite book is “Charlotte’s Web.”
She worked as a bartender, waitress, and fitness instructor to put herself through college.
She and her husband wed in a castle (a true “Cinderella-style” wedding).
“Top Gun”
“Baby Boom,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” “Because I Said So,” etc. (basically all Diane Keaton flicks)
“Godfather” (well, Keaton is in that, too)
